When we talk about villains, the most immediate image we have in our minds is a cruel and an evil person who possesses a scary image. If someone tends to refer someone as a villain we all try to relate that person to a stereotypical image of a villain that we all have in our minds.
It Moira Farr’s memoir ‘After Daniel’ there is no villain throughout the memoir, no reference at all has been made to an actual person being a villain. Villain is something that is always referred to being destructive and cruel. In this memoir there are some things that could be called a villain by looking at what they did to Daniel and how everything contributed to his suicide. The first most vicious villain in his life was his alcoholism; it killed him at the end. Another villain according to my analysis was his depression that he was going through and his depression had a major play in his suicide.
In conclusion I would like say that villain does not always have to be a human being or a person it could be anything depending on the situation. In this memoir the main villains were alcoholism and depression.
